In my spare time, I love wandering through shops in search of thoughtful gifts, beautiful art and craft shops, and little treasures that spark creativity. I’m also a big fan of calligraphy and ice skating — both remind me to slow down, stay present, and enjoy the simple moments that make life special.
Originally from Hong Kong, I took a big step and moved to the UK on my own. It hasn’t always been an easy journey. Adjusting to a new culture, building a life from scratch, and learning to rely solely on myself. But this journey has taught me so much about independence, resilience, and the beauty of creating a life that truly feels my own.
Living alone in a new country has opened my eyes to the little joys that make each day brighter from exploring streets and discovering hidden cafés, to meeting new friends and soaking in the warmth of community. One of my favourite pastimes is browsing local shops. Whether it’s discovering unique gifts, beautiful stationery, or art and craft pieces that add a personal touch to daily living. A little gift, a piece of art, or a touch of inspiration that makes life feel brighter.
Creating Nova Rise has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. When I first started this website, I wanted a space to share my thoughts, ideas, and inspirations — but it became so much more. It’s where I find calm and peace after busy days, a creative outlet that helps me slow down and reconnect with what truly matters.
